From a young age, I relished the opportunity to perform. So on Christmas Eve, I’d gather the whole family around the piano -- Mommy, Pop-Pop, Grand-mama Ruth, Uncle Leslie, Aunt Leslie, Beefy Keith, and my cousin Scott -- who years later I would learn was not a blood relative, and was actually just a raccoon in a sweater. And I’d make them participate in our family’s greatest tradition, the forced sing-along.
